Working across sculpture, mosaic and public art, Anne Schwegmann-Fielding creates vibrant, richly textured works from reclaimed and found materials. Her sculptures, installations and architectural commissions can be found in public spaces, museums, private collections and community projects throughout the UK and internationally.
Drawing inspiration from history, place and the stories embedded within everyday objects, Anne's work has earned national recognition, international fellowships and commissions from leading organisations, cultural institutions and public bodies.

Private & Charity
Bespoke pieces can be made using broken crockery and materials from Anne's collection and/or donated items from the client. Materials can be anything from broken plates and jewellery to waste materials from your company. These materials can be made into small sculptures, panels or mirrors for domestic settings, gifts for loved ones or striking artworks to create a welcoming or uplifting feel for entrance lobbys or empty corridors. Public Art
Commissions range from individual panels or sculptures suitable for offices and schools to large-scale artworks for hospitals, hotels and a variety of public spaces. Recycling is a central element of Anne’s practice, and carefully selected artefacts that resonate with the people and the particular character of each site are frequently incorporated into the work. Schools & Community
Anne encourages creativity in everyone and skilfully uses recycled materials to transform waste into inspiring works of art. She holds a PG Dip in Artists in Schools, has mentored artists working in healthcare settings, and has led workshops for participants aged 3–93 with a wide range of needs. Over more than 30 years she has delivered hundreds of school and community sessions across London and the South East. INSET and team-building sessions are available. Seeing the beauty in everyday things…
Anne's work begins with objects that many people would overlook: chipped and discarded crockery, found treasures from beaches, buttons, broken jewellery and fragments collected over many years.
Through cutting, reassembling and transforming these materials, she creates sculptures and mosaics that celebrate history, memory and the beauty hidden within everyday objects.
Working from her studio near the Stour Estuary, Anne continues to create public commissions, exhibition pieces and bespoke artworks for clients throughout the UK and internationally.
Inspirations…
Inspiration is drawn from sources ranging from Outsider artists like Nek Chand, to sacrificial daggers of the Aztecs and a general love of pattern and decoration. Transformation of the everyday are Anne's passion. Her studio contains drawers of cup handles, buttons, Indian bangles and shattered glass. Her ceramic collection is a true celebration of British Ceramic history including chipped plates well over 100 years old. Makers like Spode and Burleigh ware feature heavily on shelves full of colour matched plates. Each project brings unique materials and the opportunity to cut up something new and create something magical.
Buying or commissioning a piece of work
Anne works mainly to commission and also has a selection of smaller studio pieces for sale. She provides a professional and friendly service, working closely with the client from design through to creation.

Arts Council England DYCP Award (2023) — Developing Your Creative Practice grant, a competitive national award which supporting development for new techniques for 3d mosaic.
International Research Fellowship for Contemporary Crafts (2008) — enabled her to travel to India and work with the internationally renowned outsider artist Nek Chand at the Rock Garden of Chandigarh.
Leverhulme Trust Award (2005) — with Writtle College. A highly respected UK research and development award supporting a Sci-Art residency.
Gold Medal & Best in Show at the London Garden Show Alexandra Palace for mosaic works within the garden.
