Whether it is a hotel lobby wishing to create an impact or welcoming space for guests, panels and mirrors to lift a restaurant or home or sculptures for a large foyer or entrance hall, the possibilities for mosaic transformation are endless. Commissions vary from bespoke pieces for private clients, gifts and awards for organisations through to large scale sculptures and panels for corporate clients and public spaces. Anne often incorporates artefacts into her works that have been donated by or have a connection with the people and location of each project. These can be anywhere from a hotel lobby which needs a more welcoming feel to panels/mirrors in a restaurant or sculptures for a foyer in a large company. One off pieces can be individual sculptures and awards which can be held in one hand or a panel to cover a kitchen. It is all possible and can be on any scale. Bespoke site specific pieces, gifts and awards…….
Artist in Residence
Ahmedabad, India, Arts Reverie
The residency saw Anne develop her love of decoration and use of everyday materials connected to a specific place. Ahmedabad is home to hundreds of utensil shops and its very own utensil museum. Anne created a series of spoon sculptures using plastic bangles and mirror, later shown at her solo show at the European Commission in London.
Anne travelled around Kutch, working with Artisans learning their specialist techniques. In Chandigarh she met her guru, outsider artist, Nek Chand at his sculpture park, "The Rock Garden of Chandigarh". Anne was privileged to have been invited to make a figure for this amazing park.

The central star design was inspired by a roman mosaic flooring found in Colchester.
The Pocket park was designed by landscape architects Liz Lake associates and was shortlisted for a Hortweek award.
Break Charity
Karkadann
Materials: Hand-cut plates and tiles, coins
Size: lifesize
Behold Karkadann, the mythical rhino adorned with over 50 hand-cut plates and 500 shimmering tiles. Inspired by the endangered white rhino, Karkadann means “rhino” in Persian.
This one-off sculpture by @anneschwegmannfielding , who transforms discarded items into art – when he stomps onto the street on the 23 June, look closely for hidden treasures like a 1967 penny!
Anne’s work is showcased in private collections and public spaces. This work of art was brought to life thanks to the support of @alanboswellgroup

Inspired by designs created by patients on the new Phoenix ward. The Phoenix, a symbol of renewal and regeneration welcomes you to the ward.
Colchester Arts Centre
Cistern Chapel
Materials: Donated blue and white crockery, pennies and Photographic transfers
The Cistern Chapel toilets were created working closely with Architects Inkpen Downie and The Arts Centre to create what is already becoming known as the best toilets in town.
The mosaic designs took inspiration from the building, an ancient Church spanning many era's and the materials were donated by the public. Photographs of past performers and staff along with press cuttings and posters were fired onto ceramic then combined with the donations of carefully cut willow pattern crockery.
The toilet pans were a contemporary take on the willow pattern and Anne worked with Artist Shermaine Slocombe, who produced the designs.

Commissioned by Colchester Hospital's Organ Donation Committee to recognise the amazing Gift of Life organ donation represents.
Created using carefully cut plates, donated by local people, including staff, donor families and organ recipients. The artwork celebrates coastal Essex, its rivers, estuaries and wildlife it represents the ebb and flow of the River of Life. Included is a poem commissioned by Martin Newell, a message of thanks to all those families affected by organ donation.

Crittal Windows
Tools of the Trade
Crittall Windows Collection, Braintree Museum Materials: Factory tools, scrap metal and glass
Size: Various sizes
Inspired by the handcrafted manufacturing of Crittall, Anne took hand held tools used in the factory along with fragments of metal and glass waste to produce a series of sculptures. Initials from all 112 manual workers help form the window "Made in England"
EKCO Park
Our Eric
Materials: Photographic Transfers on Porcelain, Cold Cast Bronze, Corten Steel
Size: Life size
A sculpture celebrating the achievements of Eric. K. Cole CBE and the EKCO brand. Eric's suit is created from images of the factory's workers, products and press cuttings. It is a dedication to EKCO employees. "Our Eric" stands on the plint, but his suite makes it clear that more than just a brand, Eric built a community.
Anne worked with Tamsin Evans, who created the figure and Michael Condron, who created the radio.

Der Engel des Ostens
ReinCARnated Elisabeth Palace
Part of a project in 2011 involving 30 artists. The Trabant car, an emblem of former East Germany is transformed using broken shards of GDR crockery, old phennigs and mirror. All mosaic materials were donated by the public.
The Thuringian ceramics factories closed with the destruction of the wall. The inclusion of these GDR ceramics has developed an ongoing interest in this period of history and the mosaicing of vehicles connected with it.

Darling Daisy, Countess of Warwick
Materials: Objects unearthed from the gardens during restoration
The Gardens first artist in residence and curator of its first sculpture trail which included Darling Daisy, a bust of former owner, The Countess of Warwick. The sculpture is made using items such as bullet cases, clay pipes, crockery and plant labels all discovered in the gardens during restoration. Projects have spanned over several years and include a series of tables created with local schools for the courtyard tea area and several award winning projects as part of the big draw.
Ha’Penny Pier, Harwich
Esturiana
Materials: Donated Crockery, Sea Glass, Photographic transfers, Jewels
Esturiana, Goddess of Creativity and Protector of the Waters. Created on the back of an old rowing boat, part of the Harwich Festival. The words she is holding, sum up Anne's take on life "You are just a drop in the ocean, but the ocean is made of thousands of drops"
She now lives on Ha'penny pier after her creation at Old Bank Studios, There is also a short but sweet video showing the creation on Anne's YouTube channel.

History Tree
Materials: Glass smalti, steel
An 8 metre tree with transluscent glass smalti at its base, back lit at night. 17 autumnal smalti and steel leaves are blown across the front of the builidng.
The shadow of the tree, also smalti and steel sees the addition of over 40 etched leaves containing stories, recipes and historical facts gathered during workshops across Kent. A collaboration with Michael Condron
Kirstie’s Homemade Home
Garden Bench
Materials: Crockery, tiles, mirror, coins
Size: 60cm x 110cm x 50cm
As part of the Channel 4 programme, Kirstie Allsopp enlisted Anne to help Aylesbury couple Gabi and Luke create a mosaic bench as part of a garden revamp. Filming took place at Anne's studio and the bench was designed and created in just one day! The watery theme echoed Luke's love of diving and contained shared mementos. Neither had done any mosaic before, but did a fantastic job creating something for their garden.

Symington Building
Swedish Maidens
Materials: Donated crockery, buttons, jewels, coins and ceramic transfers
Celebrating the heritage of the Symington Building, former corset factory of R & WH Symington & Co. Ltd.
The corsets are constructed from materials donated by local people, many of whom worked in the factory or had a connection with the firm. The designs are inspired by historical examples of corsets in the collection of Leicesterschire County Council and Harborough Museum.
Swedish Maidens were the steam filled copper forms on which the corsets were moulded. Anne commissioned Martin Newell to write a poem inspired by the female factory workers. The project was funded by Arts Council England

Sci Art Residency
Materials: Shattered bus shelter glass
Funded by The Leverhulme Trust this artist development residency was a collaboration with senior lecturer in landscape management, Andy Boorman. The residency developed as a journey, with outcomes including: A series of objects donated by various departments, mosaiced using shattered bus shelter glass, A mosaic meadow, a unique landscape installation combining artist's source materials and wild flowers and a lightwell mosaic, symbolising the journey undertaken by Artist and collaborator and based on an aerial photograph of the College. It includes items donated by staff and students.
